PICK A WORD. DRAW. GUESS.
PICTIONARY WORD GENERATOR
Random drawing prompts for your next game night. Choose a difficulty and topic, reveal a word to the drawer, then race the clock with your team.
01 / GAME SETUP
A new game resets scores and the used-word list. During a game, choose End Game before changing the setup.
02 / DRAW & GUESS
FOR THE DRAWER ONLY
Pass the device to the drawer before revealing.
One word per turn. Correct earns one point; passing or timing out earns zero. The next turn goes to the next team. Draw on paper or a separate whiteboard.
Set up your game to begin.
03 / TEAM SCORES
Use + or − between turns to correct a score. Scores cannot go below zero.
RANDOM WORDS FOR DRAWING GAMES
Choose from 180 original English prompts across animals, food, objects and places, and actions and scenes. Easy prompts use familiar subjects; medium prompts add detail; hard prompts include trickier subjects and multi-part scenes. These difficulty labels are a guide, not an age rating.
HOW TO PLAY
- Choose a topic, difficulty, turn length and team names, then start a game.
- Let only the drawer reveal the word. Select Hide & Start Timer before showing the screen to the other players.
- Draw without spelling the answer. Tap Correct when your team guesses it, or Pass Turn to move on without a point.
- Choose Next Team / Word and rotate the drawer. End the game when everyone has had their turns, then copy the scores.
Will the same word appear twice?
No. Each prompt is drawn once per game. When the selected pool is exhausted, the tool ends the game rather than repeating prompts. Starting a new game resets the pool. Narrow filters have fewer words.
What happens if I switch tabs?
A running timer pauses and the word is hidden when this page becomes hidden. Return and choose Resume. You can also pause manually. Timer updates use elapsed time rather than counting browser ticks.
Can I save my own vocabulary?
Choose My custom words, enter one prompt per line and select Save Word List. Only one custom list is stored in this browser. Saving again replaces it; Delete Saved List removes the saved copy but keeps your current text. Words are not uploaded, and scores and games are not saved across reloads.
Is this the official Pictionary game?
No. This is an independent drawing-prompt and scorekeeping tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by the owners of Pictionary. It uses its own word list and simple house rules rather than the official board game rules.
