MAKE EVERY CHARACTER COUNT

What are KPM and WPM?

Number mode reports correct characters per minute (KPM). Code mode reports WPM using five correct characters per word. Both include spaces, punctuation, and line breaks. Only correct characters still present at the end count toward speed; deleted characters do not increase your score.

How is accuracy calculated?

Accuracy is correct character attempts divided by all character attempts. Correcting a typo removes it from the typed text, but the original mistake still affects accuracy. Backspace itself is not a character attempt. In code mode, Tab inserts two spaces and counts as two attempts.

How do I type code?

Match the displayed snippet, including spaces, punctuation, and uppercase letters. Type Enter at ↵. Tab inserts two spaces; you can also type spaces individually. Python and JavaScript examples are for typing practice only and are never executed.

Can I use my phone?

Yes. Use the input box and your keyboard's symbols. A physical keyboard gives the most consistent practice experience. Autocorrect, paste, and text replacement are disabled where possible; use an English keyboard rather than composition or predictive input.

What happens if I leave the test?

Switching to another tab or hiding the page cancels the run without saving a result. Clicking away within this page does not pause the clock. Restarting or changing a setting also starts a fresh run. Only completed timed runs are saved.

Are my results uploaded?

No. This tool stores your last 20 completed runs and personal bests locally. There is no global ranking, account, or cross-device sync. Clearing browser storage removes these records.
